Like Father, Like Son

Matthew was meandering through the house when he happened upon Mommy with her hand in the candy jar. As I handed him a chocolate, he said, "Chocolate! That's what I'm talking about!" So there you have it, Mom's influence in a love for chocolate and Dad's influence in choice of words. Aren't kids such a great reminder that we truly need to guard our words?

I am reminded that the Bible has much to say about our words. Proverbs 10:19 reminds us that:
"When words are many, transgression [sin] is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent."
I sure could stand to restrain my lips far more frequently than I do. Fortunately for me, Matthew chose to imitate Daddy who is a man of much fewer, well-chosen words. I would do well to imitate his example, as well.

Thank you, handsome for setting such a wonderful example for your family and friends!
